Sugar

Sugar (cane) is not native to the New World, it was introduced by Columbus way back when. However, the agricultural grew well in the Caribbean and other places and so nowadays the sweet substance is available everywhere in many different forms. In early November, when Day of the Dead rolls around, painted sugar skulls and cubes are made and enjoyed by all, even the dead.
